Systematic Kinesiology

Systematic Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology ) is a way of identifying any imbalances a person has by monitoring their ability to hold their muscles against light pressure. Initially, testing a series of muscles highlights which area to focus on. Practitioners are trained to discover exactly what is involved in the balance and devise a treatment plan. The exact treatment you receive, depends on the feedback your body gives about what it needs to return to health. This can take the form of nutritional and dietary corrections, acupressure and reflex techniques and manipulation.

It is a successful and growing therapy in the UK and has helped many people recover from symptoms and illnesses like allergies, asthma, food intolerances, eczema, stress, hay fever, migraines and headaches, digestive disorders, sinus, catarrh, frequent colds and infections, sciatica, shoulder complaints, bloating and wind, Heavy or restless legs, hormone imbalances, immune system issues, fertility issues and even structural, postural, and general aches and pains. It can also identify nutritional deficiencies of vitamins and minerals, which are essential to our core health.

A Brief History of Systematic Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology was developed in 1964. Dr George Goodheart D.C. is an American chiropractor who was using some of the standard Kinesiological muscle tests to assess muscle function on a patient, and was intrigued by some of the apparently inconsistent results he was getting.

This triggered a period of brilliant systematic research which led him to discover the correlation between the lymphatic system, muscles and reflexes and then the connections between different body points which stimulate vascular flow and individual muscles.

Then he turned his attention to bodily energy flow as explained by Chinese acupuncturists. This was a real breakthrough at the time, as never before in the West had the meridians of acupuncture been integrated with our physical understanding of anatomy and physiology.
